Enchanted Forest Beautification Project
City of North Miami Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon park

Volunteer your time with City of North Miami Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park! Volunteers will be assisting staff with a park clean-up and beautification projects. This service event will take place on Sunday, August 14th and Sunday, September 11th. Both shifts are from 8:00am - 10:00am. Please Note: - Participants need to sign a waiver. - Bring water, gloves and wear closed toe shoes. - The park is awarding students double community service hours. - Plan to meet under the east picnic shelter. The Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park is a 22-acre oasis of subtropical plants, trees and animals which borders Arch Creek in the heart of North Miami. It offers scenic beauty, paved trails and 2 picnic facilities that can be rented for special events and parties. There is also a private pony ride concession within the park. There are special events and programs offered at the park throughout the year. There is also a private pony ride concession within the park. Not only is there a private pony ride concession within the park, but also a petting zoo with goats, chickens, pigs, horses, ducks, donkey, ponies and, miniature horses.

GEM Volunteer Opportunity- Family Necessities Kits
GEM Global Empowerment Mission

Support the incredible work of Global Empowerment Mission (GEM) by volunteering to sort and pack GEM Family Necessities Kits. These kits supply essential aid for GEM's disaster relief missions. GEM has multiple shifts available every Friday: 11:45am-2:00pm, 2:30pm-4:30pm, or all day 11:45am-4:30pm. Please wear closed toe shoes to the volunteer project. Water will be supplied, refillable water containers suggested. All volunteers must register on the POINT app - cick on the "Register" icon to access the registration page. Global Empowerment Mission is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2011 as a first responder to global disasters.To date, GEM has supported missions in 40 countries, all 50 US states, and territories including the Caribbean. The organizations complete 360 degree response results in having a long-lasting institutional impact.

Homestead Bayfront Park Coastal Cleanup
Miami-Dade Parks

On the first Saturay of every month, volunteers can assist the Homestead Bayfront Park & Herbert Hoover Marina staff and beautify this coastal park to keep our ocean ecosystem healthy. Responsibilities and Duties: Removing microplastic and trash, additional tasks as needed. Qualifications: Youth under 15 must have a parent / guardian present. Commitment Expected: Please arrive at your scheduled start time and practice social distancing. Please bring a refillable water bottle, closed-toed shoes, and protection from the sun (suncreen, hats, sunglasses). If you have your own gloves, we recommend bringing them. Community service hours letters will be emailed, by request, following the event.

Support Our Food Pantry
Salvation Army - Miami Area Command

Volunteers are needed to pack groceries bags from our pantry for our clients to be distributed and support handing out the first 100 grocery bags to clients. Volunteers will be packing grocery bags during both shifts Tuesday - Friday 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM Volunteers will support in distributing food to clients 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM. At the Salvation Army, our doors are open every day, and night of the year. Through our emergency housing facilities, homeless shelters, transitional living centers, group homes, and family shelters, we provide over 10 million nights of lodging annually. In addition to supplying shelter from the elements, beds, food, and basic hygiene resources to those in need, we help combat long-term homelessness in America by serving homeless adults, veterans, and children with holistic physical, emotional, and spiritual support.
