Operation Helping Hands
Hurricane Relief Effort for Milton and Helene

OHH UWM 100 year Herald ENG lock up.png

Hurricane Milton made landfall along Florida’s Gulf Coast, severely impacting the west-central region. Its strong storm surges, extensive flooding and high winds caused significant damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure across multiple counties. The impact has been severe, with lives lost and countless individuals displaced, adding to the devastation.

In response, United Way Miami and Miami Herald/el Nuevo Herald have expanded Operation Helping Hands to support individuals and families affected by these hurricanes, addressing their immediate and long-term needs created by these disasters.

100% of the funds raised will be allocated to purchasing relief items and services through nonprofit organizations actively working on the ground.
