Operation Helping Hands

Relief Effort for the Venezuelan Earthquakes
A series of devastating earthquakes has impacted communities across Venezuela, causing widespread damage to homes, infrastructure and essential services. Thousands of individuals and families have been affected, with many in urgent need of humanitarian assistance and support as recovery efforts begin.

In response, United Way Miami, in partnership with the Miami Herald and El Nuevo Herald, has activated Operation Helping Hands to support relief efforts for affected individuals and families.

100% of the funds raised will be allocated to purchasing relief supplies and services through nonprofit organizations actively providing assistance on the ground.

In addition, United Way Miami and Miami-Dade County are partnering with Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), which will serve as the designated organization responsible for collecting essential goods for those impacted by the earthquake. Those wishing to donate items will be directed to GEM’s established collection efforts.
