Sign up to be a Golden Wishes Volunteer
United Way of Miami-Dade

United Way's Golden Wishes makes dreams a reality for older adults age 60+ in Miami-Dade County. As Miami-Dade residents are living longer and healthier lives, we are finding new ways to honor, celebrate and maximize contributions for older adults. Through Golden Wishes, United Way teams up with nonprofits and community groups to grant wishes for special adults age 60+ who are unable to pursue a wish on their own. Wishes are co-created with agencies, companies, churches, civic groups and others. Together, we aim to celebrate older adults that continue to go above and beyond for their families, friends and community – or those that need a little extra help to overcome a barrier. With every wish, we celebrate positive aging. We are currently searching for volunteers who are able to fulfill one or more of the following wishes. Once a wish date is confirmed, we will reach out to all of those who signed up to coordinate next steps. -Living Room makeover (may include painting, decorating, building new furniture) -Coordinate a socially-distant family reunion gathering -Build a community garden

PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare Saturdays) Cat Adoption @ The Underline
Friends of Miami Animals Foundation, Inc.

Friends of Miami Animals Foundation ("FoMA") has partnered with Miami-Dade Animal Services ("MDAS") and The Underline to host a series of activation events on the 1st Saturday of every month aimed at engaging our community residents and our pets. Each month, FoMA, MDAS, and The Underline will plan various activities around relevant topics that will involve dogs, cats, and Miami residents. MDAS will bring adoptable dogs and cats (whenever applicable), and as FoMA, we will try to generate as much awareness as possible for our lifesaving work. This is a great opportunity to get in front of Miami residents, connect with them and grow our network of animal advocates to make an even bigger impact. This is our opportunity to create awareness for the subjects we feel strongly about, and educate pet owners. This volunteer opportunity will involve connecting with the people attending the event, educating them about FoMA, our work, and why our work matters. You will distribute brochures, direct event attendees to the right stand or person and whenever applicable, collect contact information forms from attendees.
