Crandon Marina Coastal Cleanup
Miami-Dade Parks

On the second Friday of every month, volunteers can assist the Crandon Marina staff and beautify this marina to keep our ocean ecosystem healthy. Responsibilities and Duties: Removing microplastic and trash from the boat ramp and surrounding areas, additional tasks as needed. Qualifications: Youth under 15 must have parent / guardian present. Commitment Expected: Please arrive at your scheduled start time and practice social distancing. Community service hours letters will be emailed, by request, following the event.

Support Our Food Pantry
Salvation Army - Miami Area Command

Volunteers are needed to pack groceries bags from our pantry for our clients to be distributed and support handing out the first 100 grocery bags to clients. Volunteers will be packing grocery bags during both shifts Tuesday - Friday 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM Volunteers will support in distributing food to clients 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM. At the Salvation Army, our doors are open every day, and night of the year. Through our emergency housing facilities, homeless shelters, transitional living centers, group homes, and family shelters, we provide over 10 million nights of lodging annually. In addition to supplying shelter from the elements, beds, food, and basic hygiene resources to those in need, we help combat long-term homelessness in America by serving homeless adults, veterans, and children with holistic physical, emotional, and spiritual support.

"Fun in the Sun" Kit Packing Project
United Way Miami, Inc.

Join United Way and VolunteerMiami in service as we prepare for summer in South Florida. Suncare and outdoor protection are essential aspects of living in Miami, especially for children during the summer months. Purchase the items of your choice from the following list of ideas and create "Fun in the Sun" kits from the comfort of your own home. Suggested items: - Sunscreen - Bug repellant - Water bottle - Lip balm - Hand sanitizer - Cooling towel - Beach towel - Small First Aid Kit - Aloe / burn gel - Sunglasses A minimum of five items packed in a waterproof or drawstring bag will equal one completed kit. Letters for community service hours will be provided upon request: five completed kits will equal one hour of community service. Completed kits can be dropped of at United Way Miami on weekdays from 9am to 5pm throughout the month of June. There will be a drop-off bin located in the lobby of United Way's Ansin Building: 3250 SW 3rd Avenue Miami, FL 33129 Volunteering with United Way Miami is an inspiring way to lead through service and show the local community what it truly means to Live United.
