AMIkids Day of Service - Beautification Project
AMIkids Miami-Dade, Inc.

AMIkids Miami-Dade South is seekig volunteers to prep and paint interior and exterior areas of the building. There will be multiple shifts over the course of three days for this volunteer project: Thursday, August 18th: Volunteers will assist with taping ad preparing area for painting. Friday, August 19th and Saturday, August 20th: Volunteers will be assigned stations to paint the interior and exterior walls of AMIkids. AMIkids is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping youth develop into responsible and productive citizens. AMIkids' mission is to protect public safety and positively impact as many youth as possible through the efforts of a diverse and innovative staff. AMIkids works in partnership with youth agencies, local communities and families.

Enchanted Forest Beautification Project
City of North Miami Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon park

Volunteer your time with City of North Miami Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park! Volunteers will be assisting staff with a park clean-up and beautification projects. This service event will take place on Sunday, August 14th and Sunday, September 11th. Both shifts are from 8:00am - 10:00am. Please Note: - Participants need to sign a waiver. - Bring water, gloves and wear closed toe shoes. - The park is awarding students double community service hours. - Plan to meet under the east picnic shelter. The Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park is a 22-acre oasis of subtropical plants, trees and animals which borders Arch Creek in the heart of North Miami. It offers scenic beauty, paved trails and 2 picnic facilities that can be rented for special events and parties. There is also a private pony ride concession within the park. There are special events and programs offered at the park throughout the year. There is also a private pony ride concession within the park. Not only is there a private pony ride concession within the park, but also a petting zoo with goats, chickens, pigs, horses, ducks, donkey, ponies and, miniature horses.

Community Action Day at Crandon Tennis Center
Miami-Dade Parks

Every third Thursday of the month, volunteers at the Crandon Tennis Center assist park staff in maintaining the grounds and keeping the tennis center welcoming to visitors. Responsibilities and Duties: Palm frond or invasive vegetation removal, general campus beautification. Qualifications: Volunteers should be comfortable standing or walking outdoors for extended periods of time, and must be able to work independently. Commitment Expected: Volunteers should bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the volunteer activity. Community service hours letters will be emailed, by request, following the event.

Support Our Food Pantry
Salvation Army - Miami Area Command

Volunteers are needed to pack groceries bags from our pantry for our clients to be distributed and support handing out the first 100 grocery bags to clients. Volunteers will be packing grocery bags during both shifts Tuesday - Friday 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM Volunteers will support in distributing food to clients 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM. At the Salvation Army, our doors are open every day, and night of the year. Through our emergency housing facilities, homeless shelters, transitional living centers, group homes, and family shelters, we provide over 10 million nights of lodging annually. In addition to supplying shelter from the elements, beds, food, and basic hygiene resources to those in need, we help combat long-term homelessness in America by serving homeless adults, veterans, and children with holistic physical, emotional, and spiritual support.
