Remote Option - Back to School Backpacks for Elementary Schoolers
United Way Miami, Inc.

This May, June, and July support the Miami-Dade community by donating packed backpacks with all the necessary school supplies to children from financially insecure backgrounds. Many of you can remember the excitement you felt shopping for school supplies and mentally preparing for a new year with friends. For some adults in our community, this time is met with hesitancy and concern over being able to afford this additional monthly expense. For their children it is met with a fear of being singled out as the child with an incomplete backpack or missing supplies. Join us in helping these families during this time. United Way Miami's monthly volunteer kit initiative is a remote volunteer option to obtain volunteer hours by assembling kits in the convenience of your home or organization. To get volunteer hours for this activity, first purchase all materials needed to complete a kit, compile the kit, and deliver it to United Way Miami. Our team will take care of delivering them to a family in need. Build as many kits as you wish. Receive 3 hours of community service for every 1 kit made.
