On March 12, 2020, Sant La and the Haitian American Complete Count Committee 2020 will conduct a community outreach campaign to motivate the North Miami community to respond to the Census. Volunteers are needed to distribute flyers, talk to residents within the city of North Miami's commercial corridors at supermarkets, laundromats, barber shops and beauty parlors. Training will be offered prior to canvassing.

This is an opportunity to assist efforts to bring in more resources to a community where 70% of the children live in poverty (according to the ALICE report). By having an accurate population count in our communities, we will be able to increase the availability of services (education, health, transportation etc.). By supporting the Census, it is one of the most powerful contribution we can do to building strong and sustainable communities.

This is the first of 3 more major outreach activities in this area. Our objectives are as follows:

Increase count of Haitians in Miami-Dade
Increase count of older adults and children 0-5
Educate community about Census
Provide assistance to complete the Census questionnaire

This opportunity has ended.
