VolunteerMiami

Powered by United Way of Miami-Dade

In the wake of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, let's work together to build a #StrongerMiami by supporting our students who are not in school.

School closures impact programs that support mentorship, early literacy and social-emotional development, like ReadingPals. Studies show that children with mentors are more confident and have fewer behavioral problems.Early intervention and individualized attention gives students the best likelihood of success.

In lieu of a one-on-one reading opportunity, we are calling all volunteers to share their passion of reading with any child in our community. Pick up your favorite book and don't be camera shy. Your video will be shared with over 500 low-income families from United Way's Early Head Start-Child Care Partnership.

Community service letters are available upon request. Two video submissions equate to one hour of service. Any additional submissions are welcomed and we will credit volunteers for such. We ask that each submission is a different book. Maximum of three service hours.
