Currently, we have a need for volunteers to respond to the impacts and community implications of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Note that United Way of Miami-Dade continues to closely monitor and evaluate the situation to ensure we are taking necessary measures to protect the health and wellbeing of our volunteers. We will update you regarding the status of this volunteer opportunity should anything change.

This year, United Way of Miami-Dade teamed up with various community partners in Miami-Dade to empower at-risk students to stay in school and succeed in life. For many of the children and families that we serve, the beginning of the school year can be a stressful time. With roughly 40 percent of all Miami-Dade households as ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed), and another 19 percent as living in poverty, our neighbors may not be able to prioritize supplies for their children - whether it is in-person or remote learning. By getting all students off to a strong start academically and socially, we are investing in the future of Miami.

Volunteers in good health, who have not been in contact with individuals showing signs of illness related to COVID-19, are needed to help organize and pack school supplies for K-12 students.
