Have a lasting impact on the life of a child in our community by volunteering as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami! Volunteer mentors (Bigs) are strategically matched with a youth (Little) based on youth needs, volunteer skills, and common interests and personalities. Virtual mentoring opportunities are available through Bigs in Schools/Sites, in which Bigs and Littles spend time together at a designated site on a weekly basis. All matches are currently meeting online. Activities include watching movies together, fitness activities, taking virtual tours of parks and museums, discussing books and current events, or simply talking about what's going on in life. BBBS Miami staff also host periodic virtual Impact Activities throughout the year to provide opportunities for Bigs and Littles to spend time together.

Bigs are asked to commit at least one (1) hour a week for a minimum of one year. Staff will be available every step of the way to provide support and make the volunteer experience a positive one for both you and your Little!

All volunteers will be thoroughly screened with Level II background check and fingerprinting, multiple reference checks, and an in-depth interview.

Once the registration process has been completed, a staff member will reach out to confirm volunteer expectations and schedule an evaluation interview.
